Work Experience
We receive many requests for placements. If you are interested in applying, please ensure that you comply with the following criteria:
- Students must be 16 years old and above and have a strong interest in pursuing a career in the veterinary industry.
- The work experience is required as part of a school or college curriculum or is a prerequisite to being accepted on an Animal Care or Veterinary Nursing course.
We recommend that applicants email us themselves, rather than a parent or guardian on their behalf.
EMS Placements
Due to the very high demand for EMS placements, students should register their interest well in advance of the proposed dates. We are usually booked up at least one year ahead, especially for the most popular dates, such as holidays.
We cannot guarantee that you will work solely in your specific areas of interest, but we do try to support your request. Our work with exotics and zoo species generates a large amount of interest from EMS students, so cases and external visits are usually shared between students attending a placement.
We do not have accommodation available on site.
Additional Information
Students may be asked to attend an interview either in person or over the phone. Requests for placements always exceed availability, and not all applicants will be successful.
Work experience placements are for one week, and EMS placements are a maximum of two weeks per academic year.
