Our Hospital is growing, so we require a veterinary surgeon to join our 12 vet, 10 RVN, 5 student nurse, 4 ANA team in our purpose-built, excellently equipped, RCVS-accredited veterinary hospital on the edge of a lovely Cotswold market town.
The practice workload is mostly first-opinion, small-animal, and we are looking for a first-opinion, small-animal vet. Allowing you to do that job well are; a very friendly and supportive team, full lab facilities, including coagulation testing and an incubator, a DR x-ray system, dental x-ray, 64-slice CT scanner, a wide range of flexible and rigid endoscopes, ultrasound scanner with colour Doppler and very wide range of probes, full orthopaedic kit, slit lamp, tonometer, etc.
There is plenty of opportunity to learn: Among our vets are a Specialist in Zoo & Wildlife Medicine, Advanced Practitioners in Small Animal Medicine and Emergency and Critical Care, and a qualified fish vet. In addition we have regular visits from a Specialist surgeon, a Specialist ophthalmologist and a referral dermatologist. We take referrals nationally for rabbits, small-furries and exotic pets, and for radioiodine therapy of hyperthyroid cats, and locally for outpatient CT scanning, and for some internal medicine and orthopaedic-surgery cases. We provide veterinary services for seven zoos.
Full-time is four-day weeks with 1-in-3 Saturday mornings and 1-in-10 OOHs. Applications for a part-time position would be welcomed, but that would involve some contribution to the OOH rota.
Our practice is evidence-based. It is a good place to learn new skills and develop your expertise.
