Unfortunately we have had a confirmed case of CRGV (Alabama Rot) at the practice in the last couple of weeks which was most likely picked up in mid June.

This started as a lesion on the foot and very quickly developed into irreversible kidney failure. It still remains a rare condition and is usually seen over the winter/spring months but can develop any time of year.

This lovely girl usually walked routes around Over Norton, and in Bloxham along the old railway, ridgeway and the back of the Warriner school.

The advice still stands to wash your dog off after a muddy walk and if any lesions are noticed then seek veterinary advice as soon as possible. Please see the link below for any further information.

We would all like to send our condolences to Tattys family at this time. RIP Tatty

Welcome To Chipping Norton Veterinary Hospital

COVID-19

The veterinary hospital in Chipping Norton is open normal hours, and we are providing almost all our normal services, including all vaccinations and neutering, and our 24/7 emergency service.

We are still working with a reduced team, so there may be a day or two delay for non-urgent appointments.

Our surgery in Begbroke will be closed on Saturdays.  Our small branches in Bloxham and Burford will be closed most days.

Our social distancing and covid-19 biosecurity precautions require the following:

•  If you bring your animal to the practice, please minimise the number of people who come with you, and please wait in the car park and call us (01608 642547) to tell us you are there.

•  Please tell us if you are self-isolating or ill with coronavirus symptoms.

•  If you are self-isolating or ill with coronavirus symptoms, if possible, please arrange for a friend or family member to bring your pet to us.

•  If you need pet food or medications, including routine flea and worm treatments, please call ahead to arrange pick-up.  Then when you come to the practice, please wait in the car park and call us (01608 642547) to tell us you are there.
