In 1976 we were one of the first practices in the UK to be awarded the prestigious Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons RCVS 'Hospital status' (now called Tier 3). We are proud to provide veterinary care of the highest standard for all species.

Our staff are all highly motivated and well trained to provide you and your pet with a caring, efficient and highly professional service.

Our Standard Of Care

We provide up-to-date clinical facilities and aim to combine high-quality medical and surgical care with compassion and friendliness.


The vets and nurses at Chipping Norton Veterinary Hospital regularly attend lectures, seminars and other continuing professional development sessions to ensure that the quality of care we provide is always at the cutting edge.


As an RCVS accredited Veterinary Small Animal Hospital we provide, and are regularly inspected to, the highest standards of care and facilities for your animals.

We are a RCVS registered veterinary nurse training practice and we are affiliated with the University of Bristol Veterinary School to provide extra-mural study (EMS) experience for veterinary students.

Our staff have clinical experience in all areas of veterinary practice and have special interests in:

  • zoo animals and exotic pets
  • internal medicine
  • emergency and critical care
  • orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery
  • ophthalmology
  • dermatology
  • dentistry
  • radiography
  • ultrasound imaging for all domestic species

In addition, a specialist veterinary ophthalmologist, a specialist orthopaedic surgeon and an expert dermatologist visit regularly.

We operate referral services for:


  • CT scanning
  • Radioiodine treatment of hyperthyroid cats
  • Rabbits and 'small furries'
  • Backyard poultry
  • All treatment of all species of exotic pets including small mammals, birds and reptiles.
How are we different?

Luxury Boarding Cattery

We run a luxury boarding cattery, awarded five stars by West Oxfordshire District Council inspectors.


Our purpose-built boarding cattery is inspected by West Oxfordshire District Council, who have placed it in the 'Higher Standard' category, awarding it the maximum five stars.
